Here are my tips and tricks when visiting Disney World.
1. DOWNLOAD THE WALT DISNEY WORLD APP
Yes! This is really helpful. You can check the wait times for rides, map showing where you are, restaurants in Disney World and Fast Pass!
2. GET A FAST PASS
This is free!
Reserve your Fast pass before your trip so you can plan your day ahead of time.
You can only reserve 3 rides at a time.
When you're done with those rides, you can add again while you're at the park.
3. BUY A DISNEY MAGICBAND
You can use a MagicBand even when you're not staying at a Disney Hotel.
The MagicBand is available in all Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs.
Cost: $18 with Tax
Here's a description from Disney World's website: "MagicBands are colorful, waterproof wristbands—resembling a watch or bracelet—that you can quickly and easily touch to a sensor called a touch point. Cards work in a similar fashion, but physically resemble a plastic credit card or driver’s license. Both MagicBands and cards allow you to travel lighter throughout your vacation.
You can use your MagicBand or card to:- Unlock the door of your Disney Resort hotel room.
- Enter theme and water parks (with valid admission).
- Check in at FastPass+ entrances.
- Connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account.
- Charge food and merchandise purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room (only available during your hotel stay).
4. BRING PONCHOS
Just in case it rains in Orlando.
Buy your ponchos at the 99 cents store unless you want to buy them at the theme parks for $12.
5. BRING FOOD AND DRINKS
When you're waiting in line for 3 hours on a ride like Animal Kingdom's Flight of Passage, you can bring your food/snacks/drinks in line. You'll need that energy for the day.
6. DOWNLOAD FAMILY GAME APPS
As I've mentioned, the lines in Disney World rides are long. If you're waiting in line for hours, you'd want to play games with your family. I saw families playing Heads Up and other games when I was waiting in line for 4 hours and I wish I downloaded those apps before I visited Disney World.
7. VISIT ANIMAL KINGDOM FIRST
If you have the "park hopper" ticket, you might want to check out Animal Kingdom first as early as
7 A.M when people are lining up outside. When you get in the park, make sure to head right away to Avatar's Flight of Passage ride. The wait time for that is 2-4 hours,
so make sure you're there first. It's really worth it!
8. RENT A LOCKER
If you have things that you want to store in the locker, it's located on the right side once you enter Magic Kingdom(Ask employees if you can't find them). You can rent one for $6. You pay $9 upfront but you can get your $3 back when you surrender the key.
